O my mother! You are an epitome of love,
You are evanescent as the reflection of a
White swan, shimmering in broken water.
If I were hanged on the highest hill,
I know whose love would follow me still.

If I were drowned in the deepest sea,
I know whose tears would come down to me.
If I were damned of body and soul,
I know whose prayers would make me whole.

Eledumare made my mother a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me,
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And made her eyes look bright like a shining stars.
