Poems for Fasting (24)
—————————————
Oh Eledumare, divine and fair,
Guide us through this time of fasting,
Grant us strength and grace to bear,
Our bodies and souls are here, contrasting.
In this sacred time we seek,
To purify our minds and hearts,
With each passing day so meek,
We let go of worldly parts.
Oh Eledumare, divine and fair,
Guide us through this time of fasting,
Grant us strength and grace to bear,
Our bodies and souls are here, contrasting.
With hunger pangs and empty plate,
We learn the value of restraint,
In gratitude, we contemplate,
The blessings we have, though seemingly faint.
Oh Eledumare, divine and fair,
Guide us through this time of fasting,
Grant us strength and grace to bear,
Our bodies and souls are here, contrasting.
As darkness turns to dawn’s embrace,
We break our fast and feel reborn,
With prayers and thanks, we embrace,
The nourishment of body and spirit, well-worn.
Oh Eledumare, divine and fair,
Guide us through this time of fasting,
Grant us strength and grace to bear,
Our bodies and souls are here, contrasting.
In this practice, we find true bliss,
Connecting with our inner core,
Through sacrifice, we find the kiss,
Of divine love, forevermore.
Oh Eledumare, divine and fair,
Guide us through this time of fasting,
Grant us strength and grace to bear,
Our bodies and souls are here, contrasting.
As the fasting days subside,
We carry forth lessons learned,
With faith, humility, and pride,
In Eledumare, our hearts have turned.
